Milan is the city of the future, commonly referred to as the "Italian Manhattan," and is the go-to city in for fashion, design, art, advertising, publishing, and (increasingly) manufacturing and finance. As we prepare for Salone next week, we sought out the best hidden gems the city has to offer. See where we plan on adventuring #LikeALocal!

STAY

Effortless elegance meets timeless tradition at the Hotel Principe di Savoia. The hotel offers visitors a true Milanese experience; located in Milan's Piazza della Repubblica, the hotel has been a home for international travelers and cosmopolitan society since the 20s. The Principe di Savoia features classic Italian and art deco furniture, statues and decor throughout the building; the entrance showcases a stained-glass domed ceiling while mosaics and chandeliers decorate common areas and guest rooms.

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel fuses Milanese design with Oriental Luxury, and lies in the heart of the city. Just steps away from La Scala, the hotel offers guests comfort in style. The hotel offers an intimate setting, as it is housed within four elegantly redeveloped 18th century building.

The Bulgari Milano can be found in Milan's most stylish area (Via Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga) close to the Scala Theatre and the Academy of Brera. Though in the excitement of the city, the Bulgari Milano is an oasis of exclusive tranquility. Designed by architects Antonio Citterio and Partners, in line with Bulgari’s bold and contemporary style, the hotel features rare and precious materials which create new combinations of surfaces and surprising chromatic harmonies.
