The most important career lesson you ever learned?
I will learn something until the end of my life, the biggest lesson is that there will always be people who know something more than you especially in the design field, so what I understood is to be always humble and to know when to say "I do not know how to do it "

What are you most excited about in 2018?
Every month, every year there are new meeting, new dialogues and new projects. Every day new adventures are just waiting for us and I hope that this year too will be full of encounters. January is a very busy month starting from IMM Cologne up to Paris at Maison&Objet show. Particularly I'm very excited about a new product we're going to launch for the first time in Paris. I'm talking about Mondo a new lamp which is available both in the pendant and floor version designed for Oblure, a Swedish company.
What trend do you want to go away in 2018
I don't like noor running after a trend neither denying it. I would like designers engage themselves in creating authentic scenarios and products that capture the public's and end-users' attention on the experience.

During the first exhibition I did my best to be on time to finish a product. It was really important to me. However the product was ready for the show but not for the market. A product is very much like a son , it is to be followed with love and patience; you need to learn to wait and say no to everybody and to yourself for the project's sake

After almost 2 years from my MA graduation, I feel things have now started to move faster. I am very excited about this coming 2018, as I will start in the nicest way thanks to the awards of MAISON&OBJET. I am also looking forward to working on different kind of projects, including some custom and industrial collaborations, which represent for me a totally a new approach.

One book every designer needs to read?
‘Letters to Young Poet’ by R. M. Rilke is a beautiful book, as it helps to understand that there is not really a manual you can study in order to learn certain professions. For me this was meaningful as it made me walk in the dark a little to find my own path, rather than asking a mentor how to do that.
What's your favorite social media?
Instagram. Not because I am particularly interested in its use as a social tool for your personal life, but more for your work. Like it or not, it’s a powerful platform that makes you able to share your visual interests. In my opinion, one can understand a lot about a maker’s personality or approach from an Instagram profile. So it can be important to share both your approach and your work to potential clients. I have seen so many fellows around me who started collaborations thanks to a first contact via Instagram.
The most important career lesson you ever learned?
I think in this field the definition of a career can be framed a bit differently. You really start to shape your attitude from the very beginning, from the first choice you make concerning your studies and the apparently meaningless experiences related to the first works. Since design nowadays is such a broad field, it can be hard to position yourself. In my case, I got quite lost initially, and this obliged me to experiment with a lot of different approaches t design, which all gave me something. Therefore I guess the most important lesson I’ve learned is that all these contaminations are necessary to understand what you don’t like – in order to eventually find what you like the most.
