Ligné is headed to Chicago to join the Bright showroom for a special panel presentation at NeoCon, one of the largest and most important events for the commercial design industry. The talk will be moderated by Jen Renzi, Special Projects Executive Editor for Interior Design magazine. She will be joined by panelists Eric Gannon (Principal of Gensler Chicago) and Mick McConnell (Vice President and Head of Concept Studio at WeWork). The dialogue will examine the impact of the changing workplace atmosphere and layout.

Titled “Home Sweet Office: Creating Work Life Bliss”, Bright’s panel will look into the potential benefits and detriments associated with relaxing the workplace. There has been a blurring of the lines between home and office. Companies are embracing more relaxed, residential-style work spaces that spark creativity and collaboration. With amenities that allow employees to wine, dine, and unwind, corporate lobbies are no longer made just for waiting. The office is the new home away from home and designers are bridging the gap.

As the disparity between work and home dissolves, designers bring the idea of workplace comfort into reality. Moderator Jen Renzi has an extensive knowledge base of both residential and office design after years of working as a design editor. Eric Gannon will bring his incredible insight into the architecture and design of functional and aesthetically desirable office spaces to the conversation while Mick McConnell will share the vision that helped shape one of the world’s most innovative workspace concepts. Through the panel, these professionals will spark a dialogue on the way offices are being reshaped to fulfill new purposes.

Bright’s panel mirrors the innovation NeoCon works to cultivate every year. In fact, this month NeoCon approaches its 50th year of shaping the commercial design industry. NeoCon is where connections are made; it’s an educational opportunity with flourishing creativity. Held annually at The Mart in Chicago since 1969, NeoCon serves as a central convergence point for professionals from all fields of the design industry. Considered the commercial event of the year, 500 companies and 50,000 design professionals will enter the city June 11th through the 13th for NeoCon. Over 100 seminars, networking opportunities, marquee presentations, and special programs will take place in NeoCon’s one million square feet of exhibition space.
